Pierre, man of learning, devoted pastor, educator, learned in the law, statesmanlike in negotiation, founder and reformer of two religious Congregations, had his own distinctive way of tracing the path to God.

Deeply learned in the Scriptures ,
he loved to dwell on the humanity of Jesus as He travelled on the road of life along which we all have to pass,

The man Jesus was for him the inspiration for all his actions.

He spent long periods in prayer . His life shows clearly his personal experience of close friendship with God.

He had as his companions on the way the writings of the early Fathers and specially St Augustine . For him every meeting with another person, particularly a poor man, was an encounter with God.
